Eco-Friendly Sign Shop in Portland, Oregon

Although vinyl banners are not biodegradable, we do our best to reduce their impact by printing with eco-friendly inks using our eco-friendly printer.  We also dedicate our extra time to repurposing vinyl banners that are brought back to us, by creating stylish billboard and banner tote bags with the material.  Soon we hope to have a rack full of these reusable bags for our customers to take with them, as a token of our dedication to reducing our footprint.  Recycling, reducing, repurposing, reusing, upcycling...Many ways to do it, and we do whatever we can.

Portland Sign Shop offers eco-friendly banners, printed on biodegradable material, as well.  The material does cost more, and it is primarily for indoor or short-term outdoor use.  This is the flat banner material we use in our retractable banner displays.  We will always utilize the eco-friendly product, if it is available.

I am...What's the word?...Obsessed!  That's it!  I'm obsessed with this fantastic video of Portland, Oregon.  It takes my breath away.  I love Portland so much that this video actually takes me on an emotional roller-coaster.  I know it seems crazy, but I am sure many people in Portland can relate.  I could gush on forever about the air, the mountains, the trees, the coast, the rivers, the farms...  If you haven't been there, watch this video for a tiny peek.

Biodegradable

As you may know, we pride ourselves on using eco-friendly products and providing our customers with eco-friendly options.  I have noticed a variety of sign businesses marketing certain products as eco-friendly or biodegradable, which prompted me to contact the manufacturer of these products.  My thought was that if they are eco-friendly, I want my customers to know.  I was told that they are not to be marketed as made from recyclable or being recyclable, because they do not have documentation to support that.  Taking it even further, these products are made of Polyethylene, which is composed of long tightly-bonded molecules that cannot be broken down...ever.  Polyethylene products are among the most important to recycle.  I am disappointed that companies are misleading the consumer, so I wanted to take a moment to let you know that we will always be clear about which of our products are eco-friendly.  The environment is important to us.  As we continue to offer more eco-friendly products, we will place them in the eco-friendly category, so our customers can be certain about their choice.   ~ Arrowhead Signs
